Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 October 2026

The short version
  • LUMIO is a free reading and learning app. Use it kindly and lawfully.
  • Lessons are for learning. They can contain mistakes, and they are not professional or religious advice.
  • You keep control of your account and can stop using LUMIO at any time.

These terms govern your use of the LUMIO app and the website at lumio.mabdullahshahzad.com (together, the “Service”). By downloading or using LUMIO you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

1. The Service

LUMIO provides short reading lessons built from books and articles in our library, with takeaways, progress tracking and streaks. LUMIO is in early release: features may change, and the Service may be unavailable at times.

2. Your account

3. Installing the Android app

LUMIO for Android is currently shared as a direct download (APK), not through an app store. Only install it from the LUMIO website. Android may ask you to allow installs from your browser; you do this at your own discretion. The app can tell you when a new version is available and offer to install it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Content, sources and licences

Lessons are written from public-domain books and openly licensed articles (such as Creative Commons material), and each lesson lists its sources. Those source texts keep their own licences and attribution requirements. The LUMIO name, logo, design and software belong to us. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own learning.

6. Lessons are for learning, not advice

Parts of each lesson are prepared with the help of artificial intelligence and checked by software, and the underlying books may be old and reflect the views and knowledge of their time. Lessons can therefore contain errors, omissions or outdated ideas. They are educational only and are not professional, legal, medical, financial or religious advice, and they are not religious rulings. Please check important facts against reliable current sources and, for matters of faith, consult a qualified scholar.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop any part of the Service, and we may update these terms. When we make significant changes we will update the date above and tell you in the app or on this page. If you keep using LUMIO after a change, you accept the updated terms.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using LUMIO at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or put the Service or other users at risk.

9. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of any lesson.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, LUMIO and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any consumer rights you have under the law where you live.
